After moving from Australia in 2015, Sarah and her husband Mark, along with their three children, Eve, Marcus and Curtis, pursued their lifelong dream of living in Houston. All five of them share a passion of giving back to a community that has already given them more than they could have ever dreamed of.
This passion and commitment is the driving force behind Sarah and Mark’s vision for MORE Possibilities, and continues to impact their everyday lives as they strive to make a difference in even the smallest ways.
Sarah and Mark’s hope for MORE Possibilities is to not only advocate for adults with IDD, but to provide resources for these overlooked individuals to succeed, and simply remind everyone that we are all equal and deserve a place of value in society. By getting all types of people involved, they hope to make an impact in the community, and inspire others to spread the kindness.
As Executive Director, Sarah devotes her time to working with individuals with special needs, and after making it a family focus and passion, discovered a gap in the community that needed filling, and her vision of MORE really took off.
She has always been a strong advocate for literacy and numeracy in the community but now believes it’s time now to take it to another level. Sarah’s plan to fill these gaps is to meet the needs of the individuals by creating and developing innovative programs that see all people as a whole person. She strives to encourage others to further create meaningful connections with the understanding that learning doesn’t stop, no matter who you are or what age you are.
Kimberly Moronko was born and raised in Tennessee, before moving to Texas in the 1980’s. Though she has lived her life in the South, Kim has been able to travel around the world thanks to her husband, Jeffrey Moronko’s professional baseball career.
Kim is now a mother to three adult children, Kristin, Kassie, and Jacob, and a proud grandmother to two. Kim’s son, Jacob is diagnosed with Autism and lives at home. Jacob is a determined and kind young man, with an exuberant sense of humor that gets everyone laughing. With the help of his family and surrounding community, Jacob continues to grow every single day. After the unique experiences Kim has had raising and caring for Jacob, Kim joined the staff MORE Possibilities as the Operations Director.
As Operations Director, Kim is passionate about the connections between the families, volunteers, and participants in the MORE program. The knowledge and experiences that Kim has from her own journey as a parent of an adult with IDD will continue to be utilized in her role as Operations Director.
Because Kim has been a caretaker most of her life, she has an immense amount of empathy, compassion and understanding, that alongside her experiences and knowledge shows that she is the prime example of the values and mission behind MORE Possibilities.
As Kim finds her own balance in life as she works on separating her two worlds of 'Jacob’s Mom' and ‘Kim', she hopes to help others re-gain their own life balance as well. Kim would’ve given anything to have a MORE Possibilities earlier in her life journey, and she is excited to help others as well as let parents know that she understands how they feel and give them the community she knows they need so much in their individual lives.
